Grovetown, GA, is located in Columbia County and considered part of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) as well as the greater Augusta metropolitan area – a short commute from downtown. Grovetown has grown dramatically in the last 20 years, with significant new home and retail development. Many residents are service members or civilian employees at Fort Gordon, while others commute to Plant Vogtle or other industrial facilities, as well as the medical district.

Two popular seasonal attractions are in Grovetown – Steed’s Dairy and Lights of the South. Steed’s Dairy is a working dairy farm that offers a corn maze, hay rides, pumpkin patch and a variety of other family-friendly activities in the months of October and November. Lights of the South provides a spectacular display of Christmas lights across a multi-acre property, as well as visits with Santa and other family-friendly activities. It is open mid-November through the end of December (closed Christmas Day).

Though much of Grovetown’s growth happened in recent years, Grovetown has more than 150 years of history. The Grovetown Museum, established in what was a historic home that had fallen into disrepair, provides insights into the town’s history, with four galleries of information. Grovetown also offers the Euchee Creek Library and multiple recreational areas. Grovetown residents attend Columbia County schools. Many service-based businesses and restaurants are available to Grovetown residents, making this location popular for home buyers.
